Julie is the managing editor of AHOY! and she oversees the annual Safety at Sea course and wooden boatbuilding camp. She loves her Museum office in the International Small Crafts Center where she can look out on “her boats” and go out to hear visitors sharing sea stories. Julie’s previous career centered upon the performing arts, directing the marketing and public relations departments of Virginia Stage Company and Virginia Arts Festival. A native Tar Heel and graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill (B.A., English and Radio-TV-Motion Pictures), Julie is proud to say, “#IAmaMariner!”
